A Defined Investment Strategy
The Optimas Group is a private company investment and search fund with a defined momentum investment strategy.
The Optimas Group is primarily focused on business-to-business companies that leverage differentiating technology and highly skilled talent to assist their clients in maximizing revenue, earnings, and market share in their specific competitive environments. We typically invest a minimum $5 million per transaction in equity, preferred/coupon equity, senior debt or a combination of these capital instruments. Additional capital in the form of equity and debt is available through Optimas Group partner investors and lenders. While we will entertain opportunities in other business disciplines, we do not invest in consumer-based retail, food and beverage related businesses, and heavy manufacturing.
We:
- Focus on acquiring and growing early stage, emerging, or established businesses that have validated their respective market offering but have not had sufficient capital and/or professional management to realize the enterprise's potential.
- Typically invest a minimum $5 million per transaction in equity, preferred/coupon equity, senior debt or a combination of these capital instruments.
- Only pursue opportunities where we can assume a majority / controlling ownership position upon acquisition. In unique circumstances we have taken minority positions in combination with the appropriate participation and board representation.
- Typically install a proven Chief Executive Officer or President upon investment in the business.
- Seek a risk adjusted cumulative Internal Rate of Return of 20% from initial investment to our exit from the investment.
- In our portfolio companies we target exiting investments within three to five years of initial acquisition via a management buyout.
